Used Perkins 4108 51hp Four Cylinder Heat Exchanger Cooled Marine Diesel Engine With PRM Delta 30 Hydraulic Gearbox. We have a matched pair of these units which were installed in a Dunkirk little ship new in 1988 which makes them some of the very last Perkins 4108 engines as the model was replaced by the M50 / Prima series engines later the same year. They are genuine Perkins built marine units, not DIY marinisations. They have spent their whole lives in fresh water on the upper Thames and are in remarkably good condition. They start instantly from cold and run as clean as a whistle with no smoke, no crankcase pressure and excellent oil pressure.
Engines have been fitted with upgraded alternators at some point. Our workshops have test run them for two hours and both engines have had the seawater pumps rebuilt with new seals. They have now been serviced and given a fresh coat of paint, ready for a new home. Ideal to replace an existing tired 4107 or 4108 engine as these units really are in excellent order.
