Used Beta Marine 50hp Four Cylinder Naturally Aspirated Heat Exchanger Cooled Marine Diesel Engine Package With TMC60 Gearbox, Engine Mounts, Control Panel and Extension Loom. This engine was manufactured in October 2019 and was installed very recently. The day the vessel was launched following installation, she suffered a serious leak from a faulty seacock. She was motored to her berth from the hoist dock and tied up. Very soon after, the leak was noticed and that she was sinking so she was towed straight back to the hoist but the engine was partially immersed by this time she was lifted.

The engine was immediately removed and was then sent to an authorised Beta Marine dealer who fully stripped the engine to check for water ingress including removal of the cylinder head, pistons and crankshaft. Everything was meticulously cleaned, oiled and refitted with the whole engine reassembled with new gaskets and seals., All electrical components including engine wiring harness, starter, alternator and senders were all replaced with brand new units. The TMC60 gearbox was also fully stripped, cleaned and reassembled in the same way as the engine.

It was test run for an extended period following reassembly and found to be good as new with just some paintwork touching up required. The engine only ran for 15 minutes since being installed and then a few hours on a test bed so having now been fully stripped, cleaned and inspected it is essentially as a new unit would be.
