Description
Mermaid M12 Cool & Reverse Cycle Marine A/C Unit – 12,000 BTU’s – 220V
The Mermaid M12 With a cooling capacity of 1,000 cubic feet, the FMS 12,000 BTU marine air conditioner is designed to cool / heat up to a 32′ cruiser or 34′ sailboat. The ultimate in climate control – the M12 packs the perfect punch of cool, comfortable air to keep your cabin temperate. Reverse cycle heating feature. M12RC220. Digital Control / Soft Start / Variable Speed Blower / Thermostat included.
The FMS 12,000 BTU marine air conditioner has the smallest footprint on the market and only weighs 31.5 pounds. It is the ultimate in climate control. Don’t mistake that compact size for impaired function, however; the FMS unit packs the perfect punch of cool, comfortable air to keep your cabin temperate. Thanks to the expertise of FMS engineering and manufacturing team, even the electrical box on this unit only weighs 4.7 pounds.
The FMS 12,000 BTU marine air conditioner also has rotatable blowers and tapers into a V shape to make odd angle discharge installations a breeze. 4″ ducting is used and FMS recommends a minimum of 2, 4″ round supply grills with this installation. This unit will run off of the new Honda EO1000i 1,000 watt portable generator while in cool mode. Another option FMS recommends is to use a Statpower pure sine wave 1,800 watt inverter and 450 amp hours of battery power and you can anchor out for the night.
Reverse cycle heating feature. All M12 Models include a digital thermostat. Pump Not Included.
With Reverse Cycle Heating
With reverse cycle heating in a marine A/C unit, a reversing valve reverses the flow of freon. Normally the evaporator / fan blows cold into the cabin while the condenser expels the heat into the water. When reversed, the evaporator / fan blows heat into the cabin and the condenser expels the cold into the water. Unit BTU ratings are based on it’s cool mode. The reverse cycle heat mode produces 10-15% more BTU’s than the unit does in cooling mode.
New Redesigned Unit Features:
– Redesigned control box with more reliability and fewer components (if you need pictures please let me know)
– Resettable 30 amp circuit breaker (replacing the 30 amp glass fuse)
– Upgraded thermostat
– Inverted drip tray with handles for carrying
– Mechanical freeze protection
– Dual drain locations for easier installation
– Soft Start technology – for smoother, more efficient startups
– Variable Speed Blower – for precise comfort and reduced power draw
FMS Standard Digital Programmable/Non Programmable Thermostat
The FMS Standard Programmable/Non-Programmable Thermostat / Control is designed to be used with any FMS unit. Programmable features allow for de-humidification. It is provided standard with each FMS Marine Air conditioning unit.
